The Arkel T42 is a medium large classic pannier. Arkel claims they told their designers to "keep it simple" with this bag, but compared to many brands it is loaded with features. The T-42 has an aluminum frame, hard bottom, and full length zippers to make sure your gear is accessible and stable. The top and rear pockets feature Arlek's "smiley" zippers which allow easy access with out letting your things fall out. In the liner against the back plate Arkel has included a pocket for all the items you want to keep from being bent. On the outside of the bag is a large mesh pocket for wet items or things you need instant access to. The T42 will attach to your rack using Arkel's easy, adjustable, and secure cam lock hook system.There are also built in safety features such as reflective ribbons, tangle-free straps for cinching down smaller loads that can not go into your wheels. The reflective ribbons surround the bag and are visible to traffic whether you are hithering or thithering. The Switchback is a medium sized pannier that is convertible to a backpack. It is a great option for anyone who uses a backpack or messenger bag on their commute. Once you ride with nothing on your back you won't want to go back. It converts back and forth from pannier to backpack in seconds. All you have to do is clip the backpack straps on the front of the bag and you are ready to go. The Switchback attaches to the rack with Arkel's Cam-Lock system at the top of the rack and does not use a lower hook. When worn as a backpack the hooks can not touch your back. It works great as a quick urban pannier, but if you are touring we recommend the Arkel Bug.

The Arkel Handle Bar Bags are some of the nicest bar bags on the market. They are constructed with an aluminum frame and plastic shell to give the bag form and protect what you put in it. There is a padded bottom for more protection too. The bag mounts to the bar with a set of aluminum clamps and the bag has stainless clip-plates that attach to the clamps. There is no plastic to break and the clamps work very well so your bag won't slip down. The liner is removable and machine washable. The Arkel GT54 is the flagship/workhorse of the Arkel pannier line. It's asymmetrical design is based on the idea that you likely have very few of the same size items when you travel so your panniers should have different features as well. For instance the tube pocket. In the tube pocket you can stow a ground pad, tent poles, or perhaps even a tent. But you don't need two. Similar features are available throughout.
Within both panniers is a bright yellow, waterproof, liner with a non-use option. Bright yellow to more easily identify your items in the dark; waterpoof to keep your items dry or separate the dirty from the clean; or if you're not in wet or dirty conditions roll the liner up and out of your way.
Pockets are everywhere and if Velcro isn't holding it in place like a few pockets, then you're opening and closing with a buttery smooth zippers. Infact, you probably won't believe it's not butter. A couple notable pockets are the Butterfly Pocket and the Fanny Pack Pocket. The Butterfly pocket is a convenient feature that allows you to store common tools or other essentials so you don't have to dig throughout panniers when you need your common articles now. And then there is the Fanny Pack; need we say more?

The GT-18s are available with or with out a back pack option. The back pack option turns your pannier in to a great day pack for when you are taking a hike off the bike. The backpack straps stow away quickly and easily. The cam lock attachment system is completely out of the way and won't touch your back when in back pack mode.
