| In celebration of their 38th Anniversary, Phil Wood made a limited run of 3.5 track hubs with unique cutouts and larger than normal 3.5" flanges. Reminiscent of 1950's Campy track hubs, Phil Wood ups the anti in quality and craftsmanship with these beauties. These hubs are limited to a run of 100 pairs and will each is numbered (1 of 50, 1 of 5, etc) identifying its position in production. Within these 100, Phil finished hubs various ways including gold plated: 50 silver All silver hubs have been sold. 20 black All black hubs been sold. 5 red All red hubs have been sold. 5 blue All blue hubs have been sold. 5 green All green hubs have been sold. 5 purple All purple hubs have been sold. 10 gold PLATED (actual gold plating not anodizing) All Gold Plated hubs have been sold!
In addition to the extra tall flanges, numbering, and round cutouts, the hubs have a number of other unique features: A Phil Wood cog is included, you can specify size. The lockring threading is longer so it looks flush with the hub shell and the lockring is polished to the shiny finish Phil Wood is known for. It has polished front and rear axle washers similar to the 'chrome domes' found on the mountain bike hubs. It has polished axle bolts to finish it all off with. A laser etched dogtag is also included with each pair stating the production # and hub designer.
This is truly the ultimate in track hubs if you are looking for that thing that will last forever, but will never be seen on the kid next door's bike.
