Once upon a time all saddles were made of stretched leather.  They were comfortable and durable, but people complained that they were too heavy.  Now people are realizing that at least when it comes to saddles comfort is more important than weight.

Until recently the only option in leather saddles was Brooks.  Now Cardiff is another option.  The saddles are not as quite as nice, and they are not made in England, but they are less expensive.

The Cornwall is Cardiff's a great bargain for a leather sport / tour saddle.  It is made of premium cowhide with steel rails and rivets.  Compare its shape to a Brooks B-17.

Rub a little Proofide on them to soften them up and you're ready to go.  It will fit you like a glove after you've got some miles on it.
